Foiling the Drop-Out Trap: Completion Grant Practices for Retaining and Graduating Students
This report summarizes practices for universities to consider when creating or expanding completion grant programs to promote student retention or graduation. The practices were gathered from interviews with 10 urban-serving institutions. A number of approaches can be used to execute completion grants, but three broad types emerge from the interviews described in this report: reactive, skin-in-the-game, and two-pronged. Detailed information and additional background information are presented in the full report.
