Nudges to the Finish Line: Tackling the Last Mile to Increase College Completion
Could personalized interventions lead to increased degree attainment among students who have completed the majority of credits needed to obtain their degree but are at risk of dropping out before graduating? This is precisely what the College Completion Network’s Nudges to the Finish Line (N2FL) research team at the University of Virginia is examining through their randomized controlled trial. In particular, the N2FL team seeks to identify the impact that weekly nudges have on students’ persistence and completion. This article details the motivations behind the N2FL team’s project, its research design, and the initial results.
